After retirement they liked to stay active and they volunteered at the Fairview Park food pantry, church, the county library and worked at the polls on election days.
Bob was an animal lover, particularly fond of dogs.

I can not express my deepest feelings of sorrow for Rader family, there just isn't strong enough words My heart is sooo broken He was one of a kind & one of the greatest men I have EVER known! He was so kind & generous to everyone. He would do anything in the world for you. He became my world after my father passed away I adopted Bob to be my dad while my dad was gone & he let me! We shared so many conversations & emotions (esp. After his wife, Carol passed away). We became very close confidantes & I will FOREVER miss him terribly I love you Poppy & I hope your dancing with the Angels & Carol right now Love Bonnie
