It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert Shannon Rampey announces his passing on May 25, 2025, at the age of 60. Shannon, originally from Glencoe, had lived in Snead for the past 20 years.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Cindy Fountaine Rampey; his son, Blake Rampey (Katy); his daughter, Amber Rampey (Zeke Fralish); his mother, Helen Whitmire Warren (John); his sister, Selena Whitaker (Randy); his brother, Michael Rampey (Cheri); and his grandson, Wells Rampey. He also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Rampey; his father-in-law, Max Fountaine; his maternal grandparents, Gerstle and Gladys Whitmire; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Lora Rampey; and his nephew, Samuel Frazier.
Before his stroke, Shannon loved working, tinkering with his Trans Am, exploring the outdoors, playing golf, playing video games, watching Alabama football, spending time with friends and family, and living life to the fullest. As Shannon's health declined, he became an avid player of Asphalt 8, where he accumulated over 15 million coins and 147 vehicles. He loved his family and also loved living in Snead, often saying he never wanted to live anywhere else-except maybe the beach.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
