Robert (Rob) James Rector
November 13, 1982 – November 1, 2025
Robert “Rob” James Rector, age 42, of Jenison, Michigan, passed away after a yearlong battle with stomach cancer on November 1, 2025. Rob was a beloved husband, father, son and brother. Rob is survived by his wife, Alisha, sons Caleb and Dylan, parents Stacy and Dewey Mourer, Tom and Cindy Griffin, brother Jimmy (Brittany) Bodkins, sister Amber (Chris) Wolfe, grandmothers Mary Mourer and Heidi Ramirez, closest friend Daniel (Katie) Valero and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers and namesakes Robert E. Rector and James Griffin, beloved grandmother Ruth Rector and sister Kayleigh.
Rob found joy in both his work and his hobbies. He served as Lead Cultivator and Operations Manager at Plushco, where he enjoyed combining his horticulture experience with strong leadership in a fast-growing industry. Prior to that, he was the General Manager of several Biggby Coffee locations, where he built strong teams, lasting relationships and a love for coffee.
Outside of work, Rob was an avid frisbee disc golf player, who was privileged enough to visit some of the most beautiful, unique and challenging courses in the country. Always up for a friendly game and the chance to enjoy the outdoors. His greatest pride and joy, however, was his family. He was a devoted husband to Alisha and a loving father to Caleb and Dylan, whose lives he enriched with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment.
A private family service will be held in Rob’s honor on Friday, 11/8/25. A celebration of life memorial, hosted by his Sons will be planned for the spring at Fallsburg Park in Lowell, Mi, where friends and loved ones will gather to remember and celebrate the incredible person Rob was.
Rob’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. You’re not gone to us... you’re just waiting for us in a better place.
