Our cousin Bob Reed passed away this weekend. He was 80. His mother and he were a big part of the lives of our early family and stayed close and involved even as we all got older. Bob's in so many family photos - he was just another kiddo in our big family group. Bob was about 20 years older than me so I didn't have that special young-cousin relationship that some of my siblings got to enjoy but I spent a lot of time with his mother, my dad's sister, and remember Bob being at many of the holiday gatherings or special occasions as I was growing up.
As we got older, we saw Bob quite often through the years which was always nice. Our last visit my sister and I went to Springfield, MO to see him as he had quit driving out of town. Bob and I had good phone visits which kept us close and up to date on family comings and goings as well as his life and health.
Bob married his wonderful wife Beverly in the early 1990s. He adored her but lost her too soon as she passed in 2014. It was a hard loss for him.
Bob was quiet, intelligent, had deep emotions and cared about his family greatly. We will dearly miss him.
We love you, dear cousin.

A few photos of our cousin Bob through the years with the family.
1. My sister and Bob in 1982 at Peg and Rob's wedding.
2. Bob, John, Peggy and Mark. Early 1970s. Bob had been stationed in Germany and was a morse code interceptor. John was on leave from Vietnam.
3. A Christmas in Tulsa. Bob was living in Bartlesville and he and our Aunt Virginia visited often.
4. Sister Therese and daughter Julia with me (and Rob) met Bob at Crystal Bridges Museum in Arkansas in 2014.
