Robert "Bob" Lewis Reed, 87, of
Orem, Utah, passed away on January 5, 2026.
Bob was born on November 18, 1938, and raised in
Park City, Utah. He often shared stories from his youth there, including climbing mining towers and getting into rock fights, memories that reflected both his adventurous spirit and love for storytelling. It was in Park City that he met and married his wife of 54 years, Janet Carpenter, and began raising his family.
After graduating from Park City High School, Bob worked full time while attending the University of Utah, where he earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He went on to spend his professional career as a Mechanical Engineer with Mountain Fuel.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Debbie (David), five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister. He devoted his life to his family, always making a point to share his knowledge, skills, and experiences.
He spent countless hours enjoying the outdoors camping, skiing, riding motorcycles, and river rafting. When not outside, Bob could often be found teaching others how to play the trumpet, helping troubleshoot mechanical problems, or helping with homework. His patience, curiosity, and willingness to help left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
