Lt. Col, USAF, Retired Robert D. "Bob" Reider

Robert D. Reider, Lt. Col, USAF, Retired, 76, beloved husband and brother, passed away peacefully at home on February 8, 2026. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Helen and Cleo Reider.

Bob graduated from University of Puget Sound, in Tacoma, Washington, and received his master's degree in criminal justice at Troy University in Montgomery, Alabama. He served 22 years of distinguished career with the United States Air Force. One of his memorable overseas tours was at Clark Air Base, Philippines, where he met his soulmate and love of his life, Amy, whom he was married to and together for 41 years.

Bob was a member of Military Officers Association of America, American Legion, Security Forces Association, and many others.

He is predeceased by his parents, Cleo and Helen Reider and parents-in-law, Epifania and Marciano Cortez, and brother-in-law, Amelito Cortez.

He is survived by his wife, Amelita "Amy" Cortez Reider; sister, Patricia Reider Garcia; niece, Lisa Garcia Bowe (Michael); nephew, Robert Garcia (Meredith) and great-nieces, Avery and Emily Garcia. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Mario, Eduardo, Armando, and Relito Cortez, and sister-in-law, Zenaida Cortez and numerous nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and nieces.

A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Peninsula Memorial Park with Full Military Honors.
