Robert J. "Bob" Rentler, 72, of Gilpin Township, passed away on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, in AHN-Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born on Nov. 28, 1953, in Pittsburgh; he was a son of the late John T. Rentler and Dolores M. "Dolly" (Rosol) Rentler. Bob attended Plum High School and worked for Mine Safety Appliances in Murrysville for 30 years, retiring in 2004. After leaving MSA, he was the well-known owner of Bob's Sunoco in Plum, a business he ran until 2015. Bob was a member of the Schenley/Freeport American Legion Post No. 775 and was recently a member of the Vandergrift American Legion Post No. 114. Bob loved boating and hunting. He enjoyed spending time at his second home in South Hutchinson Island, FL, and liked being at the ocean. Bob most loved being with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Philip "Butch" (Clare) Rentler. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Donna (Pore) Rentler; son, John (Falan) Rentler of Rimersburg; granddaughters, Kennedy, Reagan, Madison, and Carter; brothers, William (Linda) Rentler of Plum, Barry Rentler of Florida, and Blair Rentler of Florida; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, in CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 300 Market St., Leechburg. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at the funeral home, with Reverend Philip Beck officiating.
