Robert Rodriguez, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, padrino, and friend, passed away on July 1, 2024, at the age of 74 in Odessa, TX. Robert was born on October 4, 1949, to Aurelio and Matilde Venegas Rodriguez, in Pecos, Texas.
In honor of his life, a visitation will be held at Harkey Funeral Home on July 5, 2024, at 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass is scheduled for 10:00 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church on Saturday, July 6, 2024, with Father Joe officiating.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, with his wife of 52 years, Viola V. Rodriguez by his side. He was a dedicated family man, and his memory will continue to be cherished always.
Having served in the Army during the Vietnam War, Robert's bravery and selflessness extended beyond the battlefield. He was known for his sense of humor, always ready with a joke to bring a smile to others' faces. His passion for Jeeps and his love for his dogs were just a few of the many ways he brought joy to those around him. Robert worked many years as a carpenter in construction, willing and ready to help anyone that called on him.
Robert Rodriguez will forever be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering generosity, and the laughter he brought into the lives of all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
He is preceded in death by his dad, Aurelio Rodriguez; his mom, Matilde Venegas Rodriguez; and his brother, Jimmy Rodriguez.
He is survived by his loving wife, Viola V. Rodriguez; his brothers, Arturo Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, and Larry Dominguez; his sisters, Mary Carrasco, Rosa Maruffo, and Cruz Gray; 25 nieces/nephews, 3 Godchildren, many extended family and friends.
