Robert E. (Bob) Royal, 76, of Adamsville went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at his residence.

Born December 29, 1949, in Greenville, he was the son of Carl and Virginia (Bartlett) Royal. He married Kathy Williams on August 2, 1969. She preceded him in death on July 14, 2017. He later married Jean Groce on November 23, 2019.

Bob graduated from Reynolds High School in 1967. He then served our country in the United States Army from 1969 until he was honorably discharged in 1972. He worked for five years at Mercer Alloys, after which he dedicated 37 years of service to PPG Industries as a Process Operation Controller.

He attended Linesville First Baptist Church alongside his wife and family. Bob found joy in nature as an avid archery hunter and muskie fisherman. He took pride in the many hunting treehouses he designed and built with his son and grandchildren, creating lasting memories through their shared adventures. He enjoyed supporting and watching his favorite teams, the Steelers and Pirates, and participating in fantasy sports with his friends.

Despite facing health challenges, Bob maintained a positive outlook and a good sense of humor. Family was central to Bob’s life, and he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife Jean Royal of Adamsville; a son, Kevin (Rebecca) Royal of Linesville; son-in-law, Stephen Ochs of Middlefield, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Michael) Carlson, Andrew Royal (girlfriend, Madison Kreider), and Hadley Ochs; his sister, Jocelyn (Ken) Beatty of West Middlesex; a sister-in-law, Darlene Weisberg of Salisbury, North Carolina; two brother-in-law’s, Rich (Joan) Williams of Fredonia and Gary (Carol) Williams of Jamestown; step-children, Ethan (Beth) Groce, Jared (Jenn) Groce and Amelia Light (fiancé, Brandon Urquhart); step-grandchildren, Julia Johnson, Andrew, Kassidy and Kaiya Groce; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Kathy Royal; a daughter, Kimberly Ochs; sister-in-law, Jean Williams; and brother-in-law, Harry Weisberg.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the funeral home. Full military honors will follow.

Burial will be private in Rocky Glen Cemetery in Adamsville.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Linesville First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 387, Linesville, Pa 16424.
