Robert "Bob" L. Ruddell, 94, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Born on December 20, 1930, to the late Richard and Lucille Ruddell, Bob lived a life marked by service, faith, and devotion to his loved ones.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. After his military service, he dedicated many years to the Jeffersonville Fire Department before retiring. He continued his commitment to public service by working for the U.S. Army Public Health Command in the Entomological Sciences Division at Fort Knox, KY.
A devout Christian, Bob was a beloved member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, where his deep love for the Lord was evident to all.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Lynn Ruddell; his half-brother, Gary Spencer; his sister, Mary "Boots" Zollman; and his mother-in-law, Mabel Hay.
Bob's memory will be cherished by his loving family: his daughter, Kelli Halbert (Roger) of Fort Myers, FL; his sons, Eric Ruddell and Adam Ruddell of Jeffersonville, IN; his grandchildren, David Ruddell (Hannah), Kori Halbert, Adam Ruddell II, Jordan Halbert, Nick Ruddell, and Abbey Hockersmith; and his great-grandchildren, Karter, Lucas, Emery, and Rilynn. He is also survived by his half-brother, Monroe "Monty" Spencer.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Bob and Lynn's cremains will be laid to rest in adjacent graves, a final testament to their enduring love.
