Robert Edward Rudi, a beloved coach, science teacher, and devoted family man, passed away on Feb. 8, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born Jan. 29, 1942, in Paragould, Robert dedicated his life to education and the nurturing of young minds at Rector, Knobel and Greene County Tech, where he left an indelible mark as a coach of basketball, football and baseball. His passion for teaching and mentoring shaped the lives of numerous students, instilling in them the values of teamwork, discipline and perseverance.
Beyond his commitment to education, Robert was an avid beekeeper, sharing the fruits of his labor with many in the community through the sale of his delicious raw honey – where he was known for the high quality purity of his product at stores like Big Star, Hays and Fisher Company in Little Rock. He also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was cheering on the Razorbacks or spending cherished moments outdoors with his family, fishing and exploring nature, or sharing experiences tied to his German heritage, of which he took great pride.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Pamela (Rudi) Raines; his grandchildren, Tabitha (Kris) Haynes, Ashlyn (Hunter) Forrester, and River Raines; his great-grandchildren, Taigan, Koda, Lyla, Shiloh, Audri, Robert Isaiah and Willow; and several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. His legacy of love, generosity and dedication will be remembered by all who knew him.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Karl Rudi; mother, Lydia Rudi; and his siblings: Erna Rudi, Henry Rudi, Albert Rudi and Karl Rudi.
Services will be held at Heath Funeral Home. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 14, from 6-8 p.m.
