Robert Steven Ruff
Robert Steven Ruff, 67, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on August 12, 2023 at the Veteran's Hospital in Salisbury, NC. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Herman and Grace Page Ruff and was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Ruff and a sister, Nyoka Galloway. Robert served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division and was a very patriotic, proud veteran. He worked at Lanxess in Gastonia as an industrial electrician and was a diehard Clemson Tigers fan. He was a member at Sunrise Baptist Church. Robert was a football fan, loved celebrating Christmas with his family, and enjoyed grilling for his family at cookouts. He loved and cherished his family very much and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
SURVIVORS: Wife: Maxine Short Ruff, of the home
Children: Jason Ruff (Sandy), Antioch, SC; Brian Ruff, Gastonia, NC; Amanda Willford (Brett), Boiling Springs, SC; Brian Foster (Beth), Kings Mountain, NC; and Eric Boyd (Laura), Kings Mountain
Grandchildren: Destiny, Dynasty, Haylee, Matthew, Juliana, Aubree, Ryleigh, Taylor, Zachary, Grayson, Garrett
Great-Grandchildren: Holly, Henry, Micah, Xander, Jensen
Siblings: Joe Ruff (Jessie), Evelyn Neal
Mr. Ruff is additionally survived by his beloved canine companion, Tebow.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sunrise Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.
INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
MEMORIALS: Memorials in honor of Mr. Ruff may be made to the ALS Association or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
