It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Robert E Ruland, who passed away at Willow Point Nursing Home on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at age 84. He was born in Binghamton July 2, 1940 to Merle L and Ruth (Killeen) Ruland. Bob is survived by his wife, Sandra of Johnson City; son, Kenneth Ruland (Jennifer) of Chenango Bridge; granddaughter, McKenna Ruland; sister, Judith Hopkins (Charles) of Binghamton; sister-in-law Sharon Smith of Glen Burnie MD; brother-in-law George Schuster (Kathy) of Conklin and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob served in the United States Army from 1958 until 1961 and often shared experiences from his time spent in Panama. He was a man of immense humor with a love for shooting targets and building things with McKenna, building & flying RC model airplanes with Ken, woodworking, and going to the casino. Bob retired in 1995 after 33 years with UPS working as a truck driver. He was a member of the Modelers of Binghamton flying club and the Teamsters Local 693. Burial will take place during a private service. The family kindly requests no flowers. Instead, please make a donation in Bob's name to your favorite charity or The Broome County Humane Society.
