Robert A. Snyder

Robert Snyder of Johnson City, member of Grace Point Church, passed away into the arms of his Lord and Savior August 26. Bob was a Navy Veteran during the Korean War aboard the USS Roosevelt. He worked for over 50 years as a machine designer in many local companies. Raised in his mother's boarding house, Bob could get along with just about anyone.

Bob married Rita in 1966. He loved his family and enjoyed camping, sailing, antique cars, reading and working with his hands. He also enjoyed bicycling and rode across the US at age 52 with his son. He shared his daughter's love for music by teaching himself to play guitar after retiring. Bob became a faithful friend of three guitar groups at the Senior Center for nearly 15 years.

Bob was preceded in death by parents, Dorothy and Clarence Flint, Arthur Snyder, brothers Russel and Rex. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Rita, son Daniel (Christina), daughter Nancy (Jeremy), two grandson (Gordon, Josh), and six granddaughters (Megan, Julia, Brooke, Natalie, Paige, Sarah). Also survived by a brother Paul (Jane) and Deanna (Gary).

A private family graveside service will be hosted by Barber Memorial Home.
