Dragic Pavlovic fell asleep in the Lord on August 19, 2025, on the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

Born in 1933 in Serbia (then known as Yugoslavia), his childhood years and early adolescence were indelibly marked by the social and political calamities of the Second World War. Through immense hardship and suffering, Dragic forged a resiliency that would drive him throughout his life. Later as a young man, he found meaning and solace in the Orthodox faith and was part of a prayer movement (Bogomoljacki Pokret) started by Saint Nikolaj (Velimirovic). He learned to tailor and left Yugoslavia for France. There, in Paris, he honed his tailoring craft before embarking for New York in 1962. A longtime resident of the NY-metro area he was an active member of the diasporic Serbian community and its parish of St. Sava Orthodox Church in NYC. Dragic loved good food and drink. He was jovial soul and loved to joke. He enjoyed having company over for dinner. He loved watching movies, smoking his pipe (and later, cigars), and being outside in his backyard. Later in life, he relocated to Vestal, NY.

He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, daughter. son, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and 5 grandchildren; as well as his beloved nieces, cousins, kumovi, and friends.

Funeral service will be at the Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY on Saturday, Aug. 23rd.

12:00 PM - Viewing in the main church
