Robert (Bob) Francis Rumpel Obituary
Robert (Bob) Francis Rumpel, age 77, passed away April 10, 2024. Bob was born in Jeffersonville, IN on June 12, 1946 to the late Robert and Thelma Rumpel. After losing both parents by the age of 7, he was raised by his brother the late Don and sister-in-law Norma Rumpel. Also preceding in death his loving wife of 40 years Bonny J Rumpel, brother Henry Rumpel, sister-in-law Kay Rumpel, brother James Rumpel and sister Donna Liter.
Early in his career, Bob was a firefighter with the Clarksville Fire Department until 1972. Then, he took a position with the Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, IN as a Firefighter/Guard and was there for 34 years. He was a member of Ohio Falls United Methodist Church his entire life.
Bob is survived by his children, Penny (Tony) Garmon, Bobbie (Rick) Mittel and Nick (Lauren) Rumpel; his six grandchildren, Chase (Taylor), Cole, Elizabeth, Ryan, Olivia and Lila; sisters Karen (John) Blocker, Terri (Dale) McCurdy, Lora (David) Conrad; brother-in-law Bob Liter; sister-in-law Carol Rumpel and several nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway on Saturday, April 13 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the funeral service taking place at 6:00 pm.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, Alzheimer's Association, and Ohio Falls UMC 917 S Virginia Ave, Clarksville, IN 47129. Memories of Bob and messages of support for the family can be shared at www.ScottFuneralHome.com.
