Philip Rumpel Obituary
Phil's zest for life-long learning launched him into a new career in Alaska mastering the art of book restoration, giving workshops to librarians across the State. Returning to the Lower 48 he brought his skills to the Cheyenne Library, but in summers it was always back to Alaska to join his family of friends for a feast of salmon fishing.
His love of people and cultures around the world took Phil with his friend Jeanette Colville across Russia on the Trans-Siberian Express, into the back alleys of China, down the rivers of Vietnam, and by ferry to the Orkney Islands. Phil's warm smile, bright and curious mind gave others the sense their life was better by knowing this kind and giving soul.
