Robert Lee Sand "Bob", age 45, passed away May 4, 2024, in Gardner, Kansas, with his wife Brandi by his side and his loyal dog Axle. Bob battled bravely with Glioblastoma (brain cancer) since diagnosis on December 21, 2022.
Bob was born in Wichita, Kansas, to Renee LaCour, on December 18, 1978. His dad, Christopher Sand, chose Bob to be his son just a few years later.
Bob loved God, his wife, his children, his large extended family, his many good friends, and his work family. Bob enjoyed doing fun, new things with his family. He was a dedicated baseball coach to Brayden, and all the kids in sports with endless hours of playing catch. Bob enjoyed his daughter's gymnastic meets, and father-daughter dances. Bob was a hobby enthusiast of RC cars and he loved to race them. He also loved fishing and professional sports, Raiders (Brooklynn follows) and Chiefs (Brayden's team), as well as KU basketball, football, and baseball. Bob was never sitting still. He was constantly doing projects to improve his home, and willing to help anyone. He was very talented, a "jack of all trades". Bob was an irrigation specialist for over 25 years and he was very dedicated to his work, the last 10 years being at EPIC Landscape Productions.
Bob is preceded in death by most of his grandparents, and his Aunt Rita Sand.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Brandi; his children, Brooklynn and Brayden; his parents, Renee LaCour and Chris (Donna) Sand; his in-laws LC and Toni Price, Ricky and Rachelle Monceaux; and his siblings; Jessi (Ryan) Pore, Derrick (Joanna) Sand, Tim (Jamie) Kerr, and Sarah (John) Clarady; sister-in-law, Lancie (Aaron) Clem; brother in-law, Ryan (Shelby) Monceaux; and sister in-law, Rebecca Monceaux; grandparents, Janis Mann, Maryann LaCour, and Marietta and Donnie Monceaux. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, and a loving extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial suggestions to Camp Kesem at University of Kansas online at , which is a free camp to support children who are impacted by cancer. It provides year round support, and a week long summer camp that Brooklynn and Brayden attend.
