In Loving Memory of

Robert Theodore Sanderson

7/25/1945 - 1/08/2026

Robert "Bob" Sanderson, 80 years old, passed away peacefully, on January 8, 2026. He lived in San Antonio, Texas. Bob was born on July 25, 1945, in Mendham, New Jersey. Friends and family knew him as "Bob".

Robert proudly served his country as a combat engineer in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice.

After his service, he graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in architecture. Beginning his career with determination, Robert steadily climbed the corporate ladder through years of dedication and long hours, eventually retiring in his 70's in San Antonio.

Outside of work, Robert found true joy on the water where he loved boating and fishing. At home, he loved gardening and planting his flowers. His favorite foods: Pizza, hamburgers and a whiskey sour.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Guadalupe "Lupe", his three children, Robin, Devin, Kelly and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his two step-children, Andrea, David, and five step-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Arleen and deceased brother Richard. All will remember him with love and lasting memories

A service with military honors will be held on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at 2:15PM CST at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Shelter #2 (1520 Harry Wurzbach Road San Antonio, Texas, 78209).
