Robert Henry "Rob" Schmidt

Robert "Rob" Henry Schmidt, 70, of Plymouth passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee.
Rob was born on June 11, 1953 in Plymouth to Dr. Harold and Hilma (Johnson) Schmidt. He was a 1971 graduate of Plymouth High School, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends and participated in swimming. He then furthered his education at Lakeland College. On May 8, 2010, Rob married Gladies Gemoto in Wyoming. He was the proud owner and operator of Mill Street Concessions for over 45 years, the original Hot Wisconsin Cheese.
Rob made roots in Key Largo, FL for 15 years, before moving to Wyoming, then eventually coming back to Plymouth in 2013, where he and Gladies settled in his childhood home. Rob was passionate about the outdoors and animals. Over the years he bred and raised animals, in particular Longhorn, Scottish Highland, and Belted Galloway cattle. Rob also enjoyed raising and showing horses, and loved his mules, especially Willy, Buddy and Bo. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and was an excellent cook.
Rob is survived by his wife: Gladies Schmidt; daughter: Casey Cecilia Schmidt; two sisters: Carol Tomasi, and Barbara Schmidt; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Reynaldo and Celia Gemoto. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rob was preceded in death by his parents: Dr. Harold and Hilma Schmidt.
A funeral service to celebrate Rob's life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, 123 South Street, with Rev. Sara Gorman officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 11:30 am. Rob will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Plymouth at a later date.
