Robert D. Schmunk

Robert D. Schmunk, age 88 of Omro, WI, passed away on May 2, 2025 at Gabriels Villa Oshkosh with his family at his side. He was born to Alex and Christine (Lautenschlager) Schmunk.

He graduated from Omro High School in 1954. He married Muriel A Danke On May 19, 1956 at Grace Lutheran Church in Omro WI. Robert was employed at E & L Transport hauling new cars until his retirement.

Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and his grandchildren and Great grandchildren. He was a Packers fan and loved watching the games.

He is survived by his daughter, Ann (Philip) Mittelstaedt; son, William (Pamela) Schmunk; grandchildren, Hannah Burton, Michael (Dani) Schmunk, Matthew (Sarah) Schmunk; great grandchildren, Willow and Violet Burton, Peyton Schmunk, Hudson and Jameson Gilmore and soon to arrive baby brother Harrison Schmunk; brother and sister in law, Sherwyn and Jeanne Danke; sister in law, Elenore Danke, and many nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, wife Muriel; brothers, Edward (Delores) Schmunk and Richard Schmunk; brother and sister in law, Martin and Marilyn Williams; and brother in law, Charles Danke.

Special thanks to the staff at Gabriels Villa for their compassionate care and to Chaplin Stewart for his regular visits.

Private family burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Omro.
