Robert Schroeder Obituary
Bob was born December 8, 1938, in Clyman, WI, the son of Raymond and Muriel (Hammer) Schroeder. He graduated from grammar school in Richwood, WI and attended Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, WI. Bob married the former Shirley Buelow on July 12, 1958. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2022. Bob worked as a gas station attendant in his early years. He was also a salesman for Miller Auto Parts and Grinwald Auto Sales in Watertown, an over the road semi driver, and retired as a union painter after working in that profession for the majority of his life.
Bob was an endearing character and loved to laugh and joke with his friends at the local watering holes, where he was known as "2dogs". He was an avid Nascar fan (his all-time favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr.). After his retirement he had time for a new hobby, ham radio operator, where he enjoyed having conversations with many friends, especially during Nascar races and Packer games. Bob was the primary caregiver for his wife in recent years until she passed, as well as their son Jason, who will miss his "Buddy" the most.
Bob is survived by children, Laurie (Ross) Alvarado of New Lisbon, Randy (Jean) Schroeder of Dalton, and Jason Schroeder of Watertown; grandchildren, Tera Schroeder (Steve Busshardt) of Watertown, Brennan (Kelly) Sellnow of Watertown, and Britney (Adam) Passig of Juneau; great-grandchildren, Ambraya Schroeder of Watertown and Vincent Passig of Juneau, sisters-in-law Betty Schimming and Nancy (Bob) Teeter as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bob is further preceded in death by his parents and siblings, brother Raymond Jr. (Joan) Schroeder, sisters Darlene Borgeois, Nancy Schoeffling, and Phyllis "Mick" Kohl, sister-in-law Lenore (Av) Spais and brother-in-law Howard (Lois) Buelow.
Service info: As per Bob's wishes, no funeral or memorial services will be held. He will be buried at the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown with Shirley. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com.
