Robert Lee Scott, affectionately known as "Bob," passed away peacefully at his home in Union Mills, Indiana, on April 18, 2025, at the age of 96. He was born on May 28, 1928, in South Bend, Indiana, and lived a life full of dedication, to his family, friends, and community. Bob was a life long member of New Carlisle and Union Mills.
Bob's career was multifaceted; he was a hardworking farmer and spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver. His passion for travel shone through in his love for exploring the country with his motorhome, often accompanied by family as they spent winters basking in the warmth of Florida. An authentic people person, Bob had a unique ability to connect with those around him, having never met a stranger. His kindness and open-hearted nature endeared him to all who knew him.
A man of resourcefulness, Bob was renowned for his capability to fix anything. He possessed a practical knowledge gained through experience throughout his life, which he shared generously with family and friends.
In 1945, Bob answered the call to serve his country by joining the Army, exemplifying his commitment to duty and honor.
Bob is survived by his loving family, including his sons Joseph (Jackie) Scott and Richard Scott, as well as his daughters Donna (Wayne) Badisinski, Sandra (Terry-deceased) Rowe, and Janice (Bill) Bailey, his brother Jim Golden, he also leaves behind his sisters Mary Ann Golden, Evelyn Clark, daughter-in-law Brenda Scott, 25 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his memory and the lessons he imparted.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Jean and his second wife Frances, his parents George and Hilda, and his children Robert Scott Jr., Keith Scott, and Theresa Kinney. He was further preceded in death by his brothers Russell Scott and Roger Golden, and his sisters and Betty (Melvin) Bolinger.
The visitation for Robert Lee Scott will take place on April 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Haverstock Funeral Home Inc, located at 602 Maple Ave, La Porte, Indiana. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, concluding with a burial at Union Mills Cemetery at 1:45 PM.

Bob's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his generous spirit and unwavering support. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his joyful approach to life and his strong sense of community.
