Almost 7 years since this amazing doctor's passing, and I still think about him. He blessed generations with his knowledge, skill, and kindness. He was WAY ahead of his time! Myself and family are alive and thriving thanks to him. He seemed to actually listen, and learn, from his patients. He set the bar very high for any doctor I will go to, including my children and grandchild. We all considered him as family.

I recently moved back home to SoCal after completing graduate school out of state. I was curious about Dr. Sharp's whereabouts, and I was saddened to learn that he passed long ago. I wish I knew sooner.
He was an energetic man with so much charm and care for his patients. I was his patient when I was a child. Even then, he still welcomed me in his pediatric clinic even when I became a young adult. My mom and I once bumped into him while grocery shopping, and he was no different of a man outside his workplace.
I'm happy to see, especially from other comments, how much he has done for our community while he was still here with us. We lost a wonderful human and he surely would have brightened our time during and post-covid era. However, that doesn't stop the appreciation from the rest of us.
May he rest in peace.

Dr. Sharp was our pediatrician 37 years ago. He was hands down the BEST Dr. You could ever be blessed to know and have care for your child.

I am so sad to know of Dr Sharp´s passing and while I am very late, I would like to send my condolences to his family. Thank you for sharing him with us. He was so good to me and to my girls. My youngest was deemed "his most healthy failure to thrive baby". He was a wonderful man, a man who listened and allowed us to share our thoughts while taking them into consideration.
I remember when my youngest was jaundiced and I didn´t want to bottle feed her and ruin her nursing - so he came up with a different solution to feeding her a little formula each day (to put her digestive system to work a little harder). We used a syringe to drop just a few ccs of formula in her mouth just before breastfeeding. She got the best of both situations.
I think he probably made each patient and each family feel as though we were his favorites.
Today I´m saying a prayer for you and your family. Blessings to you.

Dr. Sharp,I am very sad to hear of your passing. Thank you from the deepest depths of my soul for being my doctorfrom early childhood into early adulthood. Thank you for saving my life that day at La Habra Community Hospital after my accident. And, all the colds, sinus infections and broken bones. Thank you for being my son's doctor from the time of his birth. The ingrown toe nail removals were never fun! Life has been an experience. I have received many gifts, learned many lessons and experienced many failures on this roller coaster.Until we see each other again in Valhala. May the Sun forever shine upon you, and the fair winds bring you luck!Respectfully,Jonathan S. Melillo, PhD., Ms."Scotty"

Ever since the year I was born until I was about 8 or 9 years old, I was incredibly privileged to be a patient of Dr. Robert Sharp. I will always remember how passionate he was about improving the well being of small children; he certainly loved children. Even though I hardly ever had to seek medical treatment as a child, Dr. Sharp's incredible kindness has always been remembered. Bless his heart forever. Kind regards from Audrey.

We are very saddened to learn of Dr. Sharp's death. He was our 3 children's pediatrician from Hillcrest Pediatric until each one turned 16. We all agreed we never met another doctor who was as gentle, kind, compassionate or competent as he was. You never left his office until every question you had was answered. We pray for his family in this time of sadness.

I just found out of Dr. Sharp's passing. What a shock. He was my girls pediatrician for all of their adolescent lives. He was a compassionate man and a doctor beyond compare. He genuinely listened to your concerns and had a gentle manner about him. Our community has lost a gentleman, wonderful doctor and brave hero! Rest In Peace Dr. Sharp. You will be truly missed. I will be planting a beautiful rose bush in your honor!

I probably knew Bob Sharp longer than anyone. We were both classmates at Ursinus, both premed, both of us went to med school, Bob to Temple and myself to Jefferson. Our class is having its 60th reunion and I was hoping that he would be there. Over the years I've called and usually left a message. My daughter Pam lives in Orange. The last time I call I did talk to him and we talked about getting together for lunch on one of my visits. I was quite saddened by his passing he was a good, wonderful person and you all shared that of him in common.
I learned of his passing in a note of our class for our upcoming reunion. I've let several our classmate know about Bob's passing.
I love the picture of him. That's a recollection that I have in my memory. I'll look through my archives of picture to see if there any in the files.
To Dr. Sharp's family I wish that time will heal your loss.
The best.

We were blessed to find him as we raised 4 children. He was always a good listener and genuinely concerned with their health. I recall personal calls home and questions about all the kids even when I only took one in. In the mist of my craziness he was reassuring.

Dr. Robert C. Sharp and I shared the same name--the same as my father Robert C. Sharp, Sr...who passed away at 81 as well...I grew up outside of Philadelphia (MA>>NY>>PA) in Delaware County...Temple, UPenn, and a few other schools make up academic background in our family...Dad graduated from Penn/Wharton in 1951.
I've lived in Brea since 1995--many times I have been mistaken for Dr. Sharp--based on my name. I had one cashier at Chick's Sporting Goods in Yorba Linda tell me I delivered her---what a shock. Obviously, it was the other Robert C. Sharp.
In fact, many times, I received mail for Dr. Sharp--so one day, probably 15 years ago, I drove down to his office in La Habra, close to In 'n' Out...I decided to meet him, to drop off his mail.
We talked as I handed him his mail and compared stories in terms of our mistaken identity and name.
We had a lot in common...the only major difference was my Irish background, and his English background--same name but different origins.
What a great guy--sadly missed.

I just read about Dr. Sharp's life, his many years as a gifted doctor and time in the Navy! This can not touch however, how he cared for his patients and their families! He literally saved my oldest daughter's life when she was a baby. Our family loved him because he showed us his caring, loving heart every time we visited his office. There was never a question too silly. There aren't any doctors like him anymore. We will always love and miss this wonderful man of God! We will always have sunflowers planted in his honor!

Dr Sharp and family, we are so saddened to hear of your passing. You were my pediatrician and I was in such good hands that we entrusted you with our daughter, Malia. She was a handful from her first visit, and you treated her with kindness, love and compassion. You always took our phone calls and put me at ease with whatever illness arose. Please know that we and countless others have lost the GREATEST Doctor any child could have. We thank you for everything you've done health wise for our daughter. Heaven has gained a superb Angel that has earned his wings 100 times over. Sleep well, Dr. Sharp. We love you and will miss you immensely.

He had an impressive resume, yet it was his heart and passion that I'll always remember. Took his time, asked questions, truly loved his patients. Loved to teach those working his office. A huge heart, a great sense of humor, a man of God. I hope he knows of the impact he's had on all of us. We love you Dr. Sharp
