Robert Earl Shoemaker

Robert Earl Shoemaker, age 68, passed away April 19, 2023. He worked for many years as a gauger and boilermaker at Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Jean Shoemaker Gomez; granddaughter, Misty Rosendale; parents, William and Doris Shoemaker; siblings, Nelda Baria, Alma Rae Shoemaker, Billy Ray Shoemaker and David Wayne Shoemaker.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, William Earl (Joy) Shoemaker and Robert Matthew (Brandi) Shoemaker; grandchildren, Joshua (Emily), Tyler, Tiffany, Heather, Victoria, Journey and Lacey; great grandchildren, Jaylynn, Mercy, Alizabeth and Aubrey Mae; siblings, Jr. Shoemaker, Delores (Randy) McDuffy and Annett Weaver; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for Robert Earl Shoemaker will be Monday, April 24, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 25, 2023 in the funeral home chapel beginning at 11:00 AM with Bro. Mickey Middleton officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dakota Clark, Tommy Shoemaker, Mickey Weaver, Charles Weaver, Joshua Shoemaker, Austin Shoemaker and Marvin Eubanks. Honorary pallbearers include BJ Shoemaker and Buddy Smith.
