Robert Allen "Bob" Shubert

ROUGEMONT: Robert "Bob" Allen Shubert, 82, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at his home in Caldwell. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Ray Allen Shubert and Marilee Davis Shubert.
Mr. Shubert was raised in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville. He moved to Durham, North Carolina to work for GTE and moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Andalusia, Alabama for his job before retiring from GTE Headquarters in Irving, Texas. He was a US Army veteran, serving in the 303rd USASA Battalion, stationed at Fort Wolters, Texas where he met his wife. He grew up Baptist and was a member of First Baptist Church of Nashville for many years, Grace Baptist Church, Durham, and First Baptist Church, Andalusia. He served as a Deacon, Youth Leader, and Church League Basketball Coach. After retirement and moving back to North Carolina, he became a member of New Sharon Church.
Mr. Shubert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judy Richards Shubert; sons, David Christopher Shubert (Tammy), Michael Allen Shubert (Shannon); daughter, Gail Shubert Blalock (Troy); grandchildren, Ginger Shubert Snider (Sam), Callie Shubert Canant (Mac), Gailey Blalock Newberry (Alex), Michael Dylan Shubert, Shelby Blalock Florio (Anthony), John Landon Shubert; brother, William "Bill" Shubert; sister, Leta Shubert Sproule (John); great grandchildren, Adley Newberry, Ada Grace Newberry, who is on the way, James, Nash and Nellie Harp, Brenton, Collin, and Warren Canant and Ethan and Luke Snider. He is also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews, including three that he and his wife helped raise, Justin, Caroline, and Mac Duke.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 22nd at New Sharon Church Cemetery in Hillsborough with Rev. Insung Kim officiating.
