Robert S. Simpson, Sr., 75, of Nashua, passed away on October 30, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Avelina (Bustamante) Simpson, sharing 53 years of marriage until her passing in 2023.
Born on December 17, 1949, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Robert was the son of the late James and Alice (Strong) Simpson. He attended Rindge Technical School in Cambridge before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force. Robert's service in the Air Force from 1968-1974 served overseas during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he began his career as an auto mechanic. Robert's hard work led to him becoming an ASE Master Mechanic. Following that, he worked in maintenance and quality control for hologic for 20 years.
Robert was known for his brilliant mind and his remarkable problem-solving abilities. With genius-level knowledge in computers, a lifelong love of cars, and a deep passion for NASCAR, he was the person friends and family turned to when something needed fixing; because he could fix anything. Robert's critical thinking, patience, and quiet determination defined him both professionally and personally.
He is survived by his children, Robert Simpson Jr. and his wife Mariam, and Rachel Cossette and her husband Timothy; and his beloved grandchildren, Emily Simpson, Stephen Cossette, and David Cossette. Robert also leaves behind his siblings, Margaret Thompson and her husband Ron, David Simpson and his wife Beth, Richard Simpson, Laura Cross, and John Simpson, as well as his nieces and nephews: Laurie, David Jr., Karen, Anthony, Melanie, and Eric.
He was predeceased by his siblings, James F. Simpson Jr., Peggy Simpson, and Mark Simpson.
There will be no formal services at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's name to Disabled American Veterans by visiting https://www.dav.org/ or Tunnels to Towers Foundation at https://t2t.org/.
