Barbara Kay Simpson, a beacon of selfless love and creativity, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, in Lapeer, Michigan, surrounded by the warmth of her loving family. Born on August 3, 1947, Barbara's life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, a testament to her generous spirit, and a reflection of her boundless creativity.
Barbara's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her children, Todd Bandy, Ronald Simpson, and Sandi (Tim) Modreski. She was a pillar of strength and love, guiding them through life's challenges and celebrating their every achievement. Her joy was multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Caden, Kami, Nikali, and Michael, and further still with her great-granddaughters, Julie and Melody. Barbara's family was the center of her universe, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her many nephews and nieces also held a special place in her heart, as she enveloped them in her nurturing embrace.
Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Noreen Bandy, the father of her children, Ron Simpson, and her siblings, Thomas Bandy, Gary Bandy, David Bandy, and Sandra Willett, Barbara's legacy of love and compassion continues to live on through her family and the countless lives she touched.
Barbara's hands were rarely still, as she poured her creative soul into crafting homemade gifts that brought joy to all who received them. From intricate dollhouses and delicate dolls to cozy blankets and beautifully crocheted pieces, each creation was a token of her love. Her talents were a gift she generously shared, leaving a trail of cherished keepsakes in her wake.
A lover of the simple pleasures of life, Barbara found solace in the rhythmic strokes of swimming and the laughter-filled gatherings around great food that she lovingly prepared. Her summers were blissfully spent on the shores of Big Fish Lake, where she basked in the company of her children, nieces, nephews, and siblings, creating memories that would warm their hearts for years to come.
Barbara's life was a celebration of the bonds that tie us together, a life lived with open arms and an open heart. Her selfless nature and creative spirit will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
