Marilyn Lillian Koehn, a beacon of love and courage, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, at the age of 71 in Imlay City, Michigan. Born on April 9, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, Marilyn's life was a tapestry of creativity, intelligence, and unwavering strength that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Marilyn's early years in Detroit set the stage for a life filled with passion and joy. Her radiant smile and kind spirit were a comfort to her family and friends. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Michelle (Michael Helms) DeBlauwe, cherished every moment spent with Marilyn. Her role as a grandmother was one, she embraced with all her heart, leaving a legacy of love and laughter for her grandchildren, Allen (Mia), Brandon, Tyler, Ethan, and Lillian, and her great-granddaughters, Alice and Calliope. Marilyn's siblings, Marion, Margaret, William, and Cheryl, will fondly remember their sister's courageous heart and creative mind. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John Clarke and Muriel Humblt, as well as her siblings Muriel, Walter, John, and Jim, and her son-in-law James. Her memory will be a guiding light for her many nieces and nephews, who will carry forward her spirit of generosity and kindness.
An avid gardener, Marilyn found solace and joy in the beauty of nature. Her hands, always tender and caring, nurtured not only plants but also the many animals she adored throughout her life, especially her cherished Dachshund dogs. Her love for these creatures was a reflection of her overall approach to life-full of compassion and unwavering dedication. Marilyn's intelligence was evident in every endeavor she pursued, and her creativity shone through in the beautiful environments she crafted, both in her garden and in her home. She was a pillar of strength, facing life's challenges with courage that inspired everyone around her.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life in honor of Marilyn will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville. Share memories, condolences, and pictures with the family at www.jansenfuneralhome.com.
