Robert Smith

EAST GREENBUSH - Robert V. Smith, 81, of, East Greenbush. passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at The Teresian House, in Albany.
Robert was born July 14, 1943, in Albany, N.Y., the son of the late Robert V. and Mary A. (Prince) Smith.
Robert was a graduate of Vincentian Institute High School. He then attended Siena College where he became an accountant, and worked for the NYS department of Health for over 40 years, retiring in 2001.
He married in Manilla, Philippines, in June 1994. Bob was also a retired Navy Commander, serving during the Vietnam Era and continuing in the reserves. Bob enjoyed traveling, especially Pensacola, Fla., going to Casinos with his wife, fishing, walking in nature, and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, Myrna Smith; his siblings, Kevin (Maureen) Smith and Mary Ann DiMatteo; sister-in-law, Patricia Smith; mother-in-law, Maria Adrales; and extended family in the Philippines. Bob is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Michael D. Smith and Aileen Smith-Caruso; and father-in-law, Macario Adrales.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, May 20, in the Church of St. Mary, at Clinton Heights, 163 Columbia Tpk, Rensselaer. Relatives and friends are invited to call prior to Mass from 9 to 11 a.m., in the Church. Interment will follow at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
