Robert Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lohman Funeral Home Daytona on Jan. 7, 2026.
Robert Faxon Smith, 52, of Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving mother and other family members. He was born on January 19, 1973, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Rob attended Spruce Creek High School in Daytona Beach, Florida, and later attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he relocated after living in Daytona Beach.

Throughout his life he had a love for animals. His latest loves included his four cats, Milton, Walter, Tina and Hazel who were rescues or given to him by friends.

Rob was an avid skateboarder. Being from Daytona Beach, he enjoyed frequenting skate parks and learning and performing tricks on his board. Rob also enjoyed online gaming, where he spent years playing with friends online, which helped him stay connected with his gaming community.

Rob is survived by his mother, Justine Garguilo; his father, Buren Faxon Smith; children Dakota and Raiden Smith, his brothers, Ken Smith (wife, Linda Smith), Tim Smith, and David Smith; his sisters, Caroline Smith and Vicki Smith Clark; and a close group of friends who were very special to Rob.

A private memorial service and celebration of life will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local animal shelter or Humane Society.
