William McCabe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lohman Funeral Home Daytona on Jan. 2, 2026.
William (Bill), loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on December 28, 2025 at the age of 80 with his wife by his side. Bill was born on February 27th, 1945 in Lansing MI. He grew up in Grand Ledge, MI. Worked for Allstate Insurance for over 30 years until retiring from the National Catastrophe Team. After retiring, he resided in North Carolina before finding his flock in Daytona Beach, FL.

He is survived by the love of his life, Patricia, daughters Jennifer (Chuck) Raison, Kris McCabe (Cesar Bustos), grandchildren Nathen and Allison Raison, brother James (Barbara), and sister-in-law Sharon McCabe. Preceding him in death are his parents, Richard and Minnie McCabe, sister Rose (George) Dunkelburg and brother David (Dave) McCabe.

Bill's humble, gentleness, caring and love of his family and friends was much to be admired. He treasured the relationships he made throughout life. His commitment to his daughters activities as they grew carried over to his pride in his grandchildren and all their accomplishments. Bill enjoyed being involved in his community, he was a proud member of the New Smyrna Beach Parrothead Club and Vice President of the Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach Irish Club.

Bill enjoyed a great game of "Fins Ball" and if you were playing bocce ball you wanted him on your team. He was an avid traveler and always looking for the next adventure. As his favorite line from one of Jimmy Buffets song goes; "Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic But I had a good life all the way".

He's somewhere on the ocean now, a place he otta be. With one hand on the starboard rail. He's waving back at me.

A Celebration of Life will be held, on what would be his 81st birthday, Friday, February 27th, 2026, 2:00PM at the Margaritaville Town Center, Daytona Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Halifax Humane Society.
