Robert "Bruce" Smith

Robert Bruce Smith, 94, of Franklinville, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Cross Road Retirement Community in Asheboro.
Funeral Services, 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, Ramseur with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Officiating, Rev. Tim Strider, Rev. John Gunter.
A private family committal service will be held at a later date.
Bruce was a lifelong resident of Randolph County and retired from GE/Black & Decker. He attended First Christian Church in Ramseur and was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Bruce was a founding member of the Franklinville Fire Protection Association which became the Franklinville Fire Department. He was a barber at Franklinville Barber Shop and Click's Hairstyling for many years. An avid fisherman, he kept a suitcase half-packed and ready to go for when he got a call from a friend to go fishing. Bruce was a proud master gardener always known for his summer vegetable garden and his fall "salad patch" of greens that he was proud to share from, especially the tomatoes he grew in the summer.
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Teague Smith, parents, Clyde Joseph and Bessie Pugh Smith, sisters, Sarah Maness, Marie Beane, Ollie Belle Underwood, brothers, J.C. Smith and Lloyd Smith.
Survivors: daughters, Annette Kidd and husband, Ronald, of Ramseur, Angela Jones and husband, Robert, of Oak Ridge, son, Alan Bruce Smith and wife, Lisa, of Franklinville, sister, Betty Sue Hyler, of Asheboro, brother, Thomas Eugene Smith and wife, Uretha, of Asheboro, grandchildren, Alison Smith Humphreys and husband, Andrew, Michael Alan Smith and wife, Della, Phillip Kidd and wife, Pebbles, great-grandchildren, Dylan Kidd, Katlin Kidd, Chloe Smith, Layla Smith, Brody Smith, Audrey Humphreys, Avery Humphreys, Henley Smith, sister-in-laws, Barbara Smith, of Franklinville, and Katie Teague, of Coleridge.
