Robert was born in Flushing, NY on July 23, 1943 the middle child of the late Peter and Mary Soha. He was "baby" brother of the late William and is survived by his devoted sister Tina and their fur babies Checkers, Lilly and Harley. Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served in Korea from 1965-1967. From a very young age, Robert was an avid train enthusiast which led him to his love of model railroading, collecting or simply watching passing trains speed by. One of his proudest accomplishments was co-founding the model railroading club "Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers" (NLOE) in 1983, an organization still in existence today. In announcing his passing, a club member said of him "Bob was a founding father of our organization and therefore, its longest tenured member. Without Bob's foresight & efforts, we would not have the NLOE to participate in and celebrate the hobby we all deeply enjoy." Typical of his love and pride in his train collection it was also noted that "He coyly implied that his collection contained many prized and desirable pieces. Though he never showed them, we all knew if anybody had them, he surely did." I can envision him engineering a steam locomotive through Heaven with a huge smile on his face. Robert, even though we often butted heads, I hope you know how very much I love you and will continue to do so until my last breath. Rest in God's hands dear brother. Hugs to Mom, Dad and Billy.
