Robert Sorensen Obituary

Published by Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home, Inc. on Oct. 12, 2021.
Robert Wayne Sorensen, Sr., 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 3, 1938, in Abington, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas and Irene Sorensen. Growing up in Trevose, Robert was a student in the Neshaminy School District before joining the Army Reserves and serving for many years. In 1960 he met his wife, Patricia through a mutual friend, and they married the very next year eventually settling in Langhorne. Known as a jack of all trades, there wasn't anything he couldn't do. He started out as an insurance agent, worked as a window installer for Pella, and finally branched out by opening his own business, Sorensen and Sons General Contractors, Langhorne. In his free time, Robert enjoyed a variety of pastimes…fishing, hunting, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to eat at the local Burger King with ice cream to round out his meal while people-watching. He was a regular, and the staff all knew and loved him. But above all, Robert will be remembered as a doting husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his wife, Patricia, Robert is survived by his three loving children, Robert Wayne, Jr. (Dawn), Kelly Ann Coppola (Gerald), and Christopher Edward (Yvonne). He was the beloved grandfather to 10 and great-grandfather to 9. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas. Family services are private; entrusted under the care of the Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home, 378 S. Bellevue Avenue, Langhorne, PA 19047.

We are sad to hear of your family's loss. Although we only had the pleasure of knowing Bob for a short while as our neighbor, we always could count on him to share a heart warming smile or story with us. Our prayers are with Pat and the family. May all your memories comfort you during this time, The Hedigers
