Robert F. Spencer of Lancaster, 86, was called home to meet his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 30, 2024, at his residence. Bob was a faithful, loving servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, and now gets to spend eternity with the One he loved so much.
Bob was the son of the late Samuel and Lillian Spencer and was the husband of Charlotte (Mottin) Spencer, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Bob's greatest joys were preaching and seeing someone come to know Christ. Bob had the privilege of serving churches in Johnstown, Clymer, York, and Long Run for over 55 years and served the Lord and others faithfully. He was a wonderful caring son, great husband, and loving father and grandfather. He was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, loved tending to their flower garden, organizing his shed and checking the weather. He had a great sense of humor and was still making us laugh even in his final days. Our hope is in Christ, and we know we will be with Bob again to spend eternity with Jesus.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by two children, Tim, husband to Bobbi, Rachel, wife of Brad; five grandchildren, Justin, Jason, Connor, Jaime, Grady and a brother, Ron, husband of Gwen.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son John; a sister, Rosalyn Baird; two brothers-in-law, Jack McGlynn, Jack Mottin; a sister-in-law, Linda Fenchak and a nephew Nate Kubat.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 2 PM, at Blue Ball Community Church, 1005 E. Main St, Blue Ball, PA 17506.
