(Middleport) Robert C. “Bob” Staples age 90 passed away June 30, 2024 at his daughter’s home in Bergen. He was born May 4, 1934, in the Town of Hartland, a son of the late Russell and Marguerite (Haungs) Staples and had lived in this area for all his life.
Bob graduated from Royalton Hartland High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for 14 years. He was a member of the Hartland Drift Dodgers, Middleport Masonic Lodge and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and camping. But most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Yvonne Lucas Staples, daughter Rebecca L. Kropf; brother John “Jack” Staples; sister MaryLou Walker.
Bob is survived by his children Woodrow (Cindy) Staples, Robert (Jodi) Staples, Melissa (Dave) Kropf; grandchildren Criste’, Vanessa, Jason, Jennifer, Mike, Allison, Brandon, Timothy; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Bates, Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St. Middleport NY Friday July 5th from 4:00pm-7:00pm where his Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday at 11:00am. Private burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice or Hamlin Lions Club
