Robert Joseph Staten of Greenbrier, Tennessee was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the age of 82 at NHC in Springfield TN with his family by his side.
He was born on September 15, 1942, in Nashville, TN to the late joseph Ralph Staten and Lillie Evelyn Staten. Robert was known by so many people as the youth baseball coach at Shelby Park in Nashville, a dedicated employee of Det Distributor Company for many years and for being the owner of Autumns Nursery in Greenbrier, TN. He loved to be outside working in his flower beds or at his shop taking care of his flowers. He was also well known for the produce he sold during the summer. The one thing he loved more than anything was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his lifetime partner, Emily Mayes of Greenbrier, TN; children, Wayne (Georgia) Staten of Nashville, Connie (Greg) Boshers of White House, Kristy (Derrick) Johnson of Thompson Station, Daughter in law, Michelle Whitaker of Madison; Brother, Johnny (Cindy) Staten of Orlando, FL; 7 grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his 17 siblings and 1 great grandchild.
The family will have a Life Celebration later at Grace Baptist Church in Springfield.
