Robert M. “Bob” Stemple, age 89 of New Paris, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 while surrounded by his family at his residence. Born on October 26, 1935 in New Hope, Preble County, Ohio, son of the late Barney Edward & Edna Pearl (Krall) Stemple. He was a 1953 graduate of Jefferson Township High School. Bob married Sarah Jane (Bucher) Roe on October 3, 1980. He retired after having over 30 years of service at Belden Wire in Richmond, Indiana where he was also a member of the 25 year club. Member of Light House Assembly of God in Richmond, Indiana for over 30 years. Bob proudly served in the US Army from 1958 to 1960 and then the US Army Reserves from 1960 to 1964. Member of the VFW in Eaton, Ohio.
Preceded by his wife of 39 years, Sarah Jane Stemple in 2020; son, James Earl Roe, Jr. in 2014; brothers, Jerry Lee Stemple in 1985 and Charles Richard Stemple in 2018; sister, Esther Marie Ridenour in 2024.
Survived by his children, Dennis (Vail) Roe, Tony (Beth) Roe, David (Chris) Roe, Jane Ann (Wayne) Cory, Rhea (Kevin) Kemplen and Deborah (Erik) Withrow; sisters, Patricia Lou Prevatt, Hilda Henderson, and Norma Jean Reiff; brother-in-law, Donald Bucher; A multitude of grandchildren & great grandchildren & great great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Pastors R. M. & Josh Holdeman officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio with full military honors. Family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home in New Paris, Ohio.
