Mr. Robert Grant Stepp, age 81, husband of Nancy Ivey Stepp, of 588 Brown's Creek Church Rd., passed away, Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Stepp was born February 5, 1943 in Union, a son of the late Clarence U.G. Stepp and Lena Chalk Stepp Bates and husband Bill Bates. He was a 1963 graduate of Union High School and retired after 45 years from Torrington/Timken Co. Mr. Stepp was a Veteran of the S.C. National Guard. He was a faithful member of Brown's Creek Baptist Church for over 50 years, where he had served as a Deacon, R.A. Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Stepp was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and always made sure his family was provided for. He never met a stranger and was a devoted Christian man and prayer warrior.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 61 years are a daughter, Kelly Walton and husband Steve of Union; a son, Jeff Stepp and wife Jennifer of Union; two grandchildren. Jake Walton and wife Kimberly and Kailee Stepp; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Walton and Colt Emmett Walton; and two fur babies, Red and Little D.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Brown's Creek Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Shawn Head. Burial will follow at Brown's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Lee Stewart, Curtis Plexico, Steve Greer, Jimmy Cheek, Jack Burnett, and Ronnie Eaves.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
Memorials may be made to Brown's Creek Baptist Church, C/O the Building Fund, 118 Brown's Creek Church Road, Union, SC 29379.
