Robert Stewart Obituary
Robert Orin Stewart, 84, of Amarillo passed peacefully on the morning of June 11, 2025.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home's Brentwood Chapel at 10:00 am on Friday, June 13, 2025, with Reverend Raelynn Scott presiding. Burial and military honors will take place at Llano Cemetery East's Field of Valor.
Robert Orin Stewart was born February 13th, 1941, in Harperville, Mississippi to Robert M and Berta M (Mercer) Stewart. Robert joined the army at the young age of 17 and served as a Medic. Robert married Judy in 1963 and worked at Plain’s Dairy for 48 years. Robert loved his life and his family. He also enjoyed woodworking, motorcycles, hotrods, yardwork, and was a great dancer.
Before his decline, he enjoyed his stay at CC Young and the staff there treated Robert just like their own family. Everyone loved him and all of his jokes. Robert would smile and start tearing up. When asked what was wrong, Robert would say “I am just happy.” In his last days, Robert was very peaceful.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Mainer Stewart and Berta May Mercer, Judy Ann Stewart, grandson, Cameron Dean Sharman, and several brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Lisa Rose and husband Jody of Amarillo, TX, and Nena Paris and husband Greg of Forney, Tx., One brother, Dewight Stewart of Amarillo, TX.; Grandchildren, Dallas Cline and wife Theresa of Pampa TX, Kip Paris and wife Amanda of Wiley, TX, Carl Buchannan and wife Danielle of Colorado, Casey Buchannan of Amarillo, TX, Lacy Cruz of Amarillo, Tx Amber Young and husband Rikki of Amarillo, Tx, Nicole Rose of Amarillo, Tx, and Brandon Cox of Amarillo, TX, Lisa Sharman of LaMarque, TX, His great grandchildren Kai, Kelly, Garrett, Halie, Sabrina, Destiny, Israel, Piper, Millie, Curry, Athena, and Aliyah, A special friend, Alice Stewart; and many extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank CC Young Retirement Community in Dallas, TX, The Gardens of Amarillo Memory Care, and BSA Hospice.
