Robert Stout Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Summers Funeral Home - Ustick Chapel - Meridian on Mar. 13, 2026.
Robert Jethro Stout, Jr. (Rob) passed away suddenly on February 17, 2026, following a heart attack. He was 67 years old. His son, Jeth, was able to spend precious time with him at his bedside before Rob passed.
Rob was born in Boise on December 2, 1958, to Robert J. (Jay) and Velma Stout. He was the youngest of four children and the only boy, which his sisters would say was both a blessing and a curse. He was the only one who did not have to do ironing.
Rob was a gifted athlete growing up. He graduated from Borah HS in 1977 and earned several baseball and football awards and recognitions. He was an excellent skier, an avid golfer and often spent part of each day at one of the local dog parks playing fetch with his black lab Nero.
Rob worked with his father Jay for many years in his dad's residential construction and property development business, Stout Construction, operating equipment, building homes and commercial buildings, learning the trade. He and his father developed and built several commercial properties along Interstate 84, including Mountain View RV Park. Rob later started and operated a concrete foundation business and enjoyed having his son Jeth work with him when he could.
Rob married Michael Anne Bruneel in 1987, and their son Robert Jeth Stout (Jeth) was born in 1989. Although the marriage did not last, Rob was always a devoted father and he and Michael Anne remained good friends until his untimely death. Rob loved to coach his son's baseball teams and always had time to volunteer as an assistant coach for his nephews as they grew up. He often devoted time to family members and friends, helping with their home projects. He especially valued his friendship with Bob Meyers. In recent years both helped and supported each other. Rob was a kind soul who sometimes struggled, but he met the challenges he faced and was always ready to take on any project regardless of size or complexity. He never gave up, never gave in and always offered his friendship. Although Rob's life was not always easy, he had a big heart. Just not a healthy one.
Rob is survived by his son, Jeth (Rachel) and his grandson Leo, who he dearly loved, his sisters Debby Edson (Dave), Anne Satterfield (Jay) and Geridee Farley (Don), nephews Brandon Farley (Drennen), Ryan Farley (Lydia), Tyler Satterfield, and nieces Erin Brill (Matt), Shannon Smith (Tim) and Lauren Edson (Andrew Stensaas), as well as each of his nieces and nephews' children. Rob will be missed by us all.
A Celebration of Rob's life will be held at Geridee and Don Farley's home in Boise on April 11, 2026, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm or until the stories and remembrances run out. We know it is Masters weekend, and Rob will be watching, just from a different location.
