Robert Streb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home - Youngstown (Boardman) on Jan. 19, 2026.
Niles: Robert L. Streb, beloved father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend to all, passed away on January 5th at Shepherd of the Valley Liberty, surrounded by love.

He was a proud graduate of East High School and dedicated more than 30 years of his life as a pipe fitter at RMI, where he was widely known and respected for his strong work ethic and his willingness to always lend a hand to his coworkers.

Bob was born to Ann and Vern Streb and was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Elizabeth Dobran and Michael Dobran; his siblings Ralph Streb, Bill Streb, David Streb, Donnie Streb, and Betty Jean Parks; his longtime best friend, Granny; and his beloved wife of 35 years, Susie, who he missed every day and forever held his heart.

Bob is survived by his sister, Patty (Jim) Corvino; his daughters, Robin Streb and Angela Streb; and his granddaughters, Stephanie (Jonathan) Seitz and Ava Trevelline.

He was truly the best Dad and Papa, always going above and beyond for those he loved. Bob was incredibly friendly and kind, and he had a way of making people feel like friends right away. He was also so funny and could make anyone laugh, whether it was one of his magic tricks, his riddles, or his famous Donald Duck impersonation.

Bob lived in Smokey Hollow in Youngstown for a time, and he always carried those memories with him.

Bob found joy in life's simple pleasures: spending time with family, visiting his favorite spots like Arby's and McDonald's, browsing the aisles of Marc's and Walmart, eating dinner at Outback, listening to Johnny Cash, playing poker, casino hopping, and sitting outside at his home, especially while tending to and enjoying his tomato plants.

He especially loved traveling, making cherished memories in Las Vegas with Susie and enjoying many special trips to Niagara Falls with his family, memories that will be held close forever.

In his later years at Shepherd of the Valley Liberty, Bob became affectionately known as "the mayor," cruising the halls in his beloved hot-rod wheelchair and bringing smiles to residents and staff alike.

He also had a special place in his heart for his great-grand dog, Winston, who brought him so much joy.

Bob shared an especially close bond with those who stood by him daily and will forever carry his love forward.

While Bob will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is reunited with his beloved wife, Susie, and is now at peace.

Bob will be remembered for his immense heart, his kindness, his humor, and the unconditional love he gave as a father and papa. He was the best Papa ever, and his legacy of love will live on through all who were blessed to know him.

At Bob's request, no funeral or services will be held. His family will celebrate his life privately.

Arrangements were entrusted to the professional care of the Thompson Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
