Robert Harrington Streett of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Waccamaw Hospital. He was born on November 25, 1951, in Florence, South Carolina. He received his BA from the University of South Carolina.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Pamela Hardy Streett and his two sons, Drew (Brandy) and Chandler (Shawn). They anchored his life and gave him the freedom to live it. Without them, always at the center of his being, his life would have been little more than a vapor. Pam loved him with all of his flaws, and in her the concept of ceaseless love could find no better example. He dearly loved his four grandchildren, Harrington, Coker, Fisher, and Ireland.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Beth Garrett (Mason) of Anderson, SC and Kaye Williamson of Florence, SC, and his brother, Donald Streett (Judy) of Effingham, SC, whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Greene Streett. He is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as his Mother in-law, Mary Hardy Floyd of Florence and his Sister in-law, Cathye Hardy Wilson of Florence; sister in law, Joni Hardy Whitehead (Robert) Pawleys Island; brother in-law, H. Allen Timmons of Murrells Inlet & sister in-law, Susan Buddin Hardy of Charleston.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Long Streett, who loved him very much and supported all of his dreams. She taught him the value of good manners and courtesy, and that hospitality is no small thing. He was also preceded in death by his father, Ernest Harrington Streett, who was no less devoted to him. From him, Bobby learned that there is no excuse for poor craftsmanship. A job well done rarely takes more or less time than a job poorly done. They gave him his faith and wisely encouraged him to stay in touch with God.
He was fortunate enough to earn his living doing what he loved; being a REALTOR at Garden City Realty. He loved his job and loved the people he worked with. He was generous and attentive and always ready to lend an ear if you needed advice or someone to talk to. His passion was cooking. He enjoyed preparing meals and spending time with his family. He also loved his church, Belin Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served as a member of the Board of Trustees. Bobby lived a life full of faith and grace and will be missed by many.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Bobby's life on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 1pm at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. For those unable to physically attend, the service will be Live Streamed through the church website, at: https://www.youtube.com/live/1TCMI5BAwYY
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donating to the American Kidney Fund ( https://www.kidneyfund.org/ ) or Belin Memorial UMC Youth Program ( https://www.belinumc.org/give-now/ ). Thank you for your continued prayers for the family.
