Robert Francis Tarr, Sr., 88 of Miles, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Mercy One Hospital in Dubuque. Visitation will be 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Funeral Services with Military Honors conducted by Bellevue American Legion Post #273 will begin following the visitation at the funeral home.
Robert was born April 1, 1937, the son of Russell and Coyla Mae (Head) Tarr. He served his Country in the US Navy enlisting in 1955 until retiring from active service and retuning to Iowa in 1985 to enjoy retirement. Robert married Barbara Ann Thomas on January 22, 1967, she passed in February of 1982, he later married Susan Peters on November 27, 1992 in Clinton, Iowa. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and being outdoors with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; children, Julie Anne Tarr and Robert F. Tarr, Jr.; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended relatives.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and step-mother, Bessie Tarr.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Robert’s memory.
