Robert Van Halteren Taylor, age 74, of Flat Rock, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
Born on November 13, 1950, in Lansing, Michigan, Robert was the beloved son of the late Robert and Joan (Ghesquiere) Taylor. On February 27, 1970, he married the love of his life, Janet (Turner) Taylor, in Livonia, Michigan.
Robert worked as a Nuclear Security Specialist at DTE's Fermi plant until his retirement. Throughout his life, he also served with pride at the Flat Rock Fire Department for 37 years as a paid on call Firefighter/EMT. Post retirement jobs included; working at Fox Run Retirement Community, Comerica Park, LCA, Ford Field, and Hockey Town Cafe.
An avid outdoorsman, Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathy Matthews.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Janet; his sons, Robert (Renee) Taylor and Brian (Tawanna) Taylor; his grandchildren, Gabby Taylor, Spencer Taylor, Brandon Taylor, and Madison Taylor; and his brother, Bill (Mary) Taylor.
A memorial service to celebrate Robert's life will be held at a later date.

My cousin Bobby & I had some incidents growing up in the family but that was a part of growing up either @ Grandpa & Grandpa Ghesquiere's house in Farmington or with other cousins @ get togethers or just @ The Taylor's family home's?
I miss all the family times because we all had fun whenever we got together!
My sincere condolences to Bill Taylor,Jan ,Rob & Brian.
