Robert W. Thomas

Robert W. “Bones” Thomas, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away at the age of 66, on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his mother Griselda Thomas, and sister Barbara Chavez.

He is survived by his wife Carol, two daughters: Nicole Hernandez and her husband Lloyd Hernandez, Erica Chavez, grandsons: Gerald Lucero, Gavin Lucero, granddaughter Azryella Noel, grandson Josiah Noel, dad Charles Thomas, siblings: Charlie Thomas and his wife Patsy Thomas, Paul Thomas, nieces and nephews: Jessica Chavez-Martinez and Husband Matthew Martinez, Samuel Chavez, Matthew Thomas, Amanda Thomas, along with many other family members and friends.

He was born on December 22, 1959, in Albuquerque, to Charles and Griselda Thomas. Robert attended Rio Grande High School and worked as a small engines mechanic for APS. He retired from APS in 2013. Robert enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and enjoyed living life. He loved his Dallas Cowboys. He was married to his wife, Carol Thomas, for 26 years. Robert was loved by all those who knew him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and a listening ear. He will be truly missed. 

Robert's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 8:15am at St. Joseph’s on the Rio Grande Catholic Church located at 5901 St Josephs Dr NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120. Mass will begin at 9:00am. He will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Reception will begin at 2:00PM - 5PM. at the American Legion Post 13, 1201 Legion Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
