Pagenkopf Funeral HomeRobert C. Thostenson passed away the morning of August 12 in his home at the age of 84. Robert was born January 28, 1941 in Brodhead, WI, the second son of Marvin and Marjorie Thostenson. He graduated from Edgerton High School in 1959. Robert graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1965 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Robert taught 4th through 6th grade in the Oconomowoc and Summit school district, later achieving Masters Degrees in math and elementary education before retiring.
Robert attended the Good Shepherd United Methodist church in Oconomowoc. He was an avid builder who enjoyed woodworking, remodeling and construction, completing many projects and remodeling homes for neighbors, friends and family. Robert was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending summers at the family cabin in Sioux Narrows, Canada. He was a 43-year member of the Neosho Sportsmens Club. He also painted as a hobby.
Robert married Janice Ziegelmann on August 7, 1965 and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He was preceded in death by his parents Marjorie and Marvin Thostenson, aunts and uncles and a cousin. He is survived by his wife Jan of 60 years; 2 daughters-in-law - Clare & Kristan; brother Tom Thostenson and his sister Karen Hershberg. His legacy includes his two sons - Eric and Chris Thostenson, three granddaughters - Leah Alta Mullet (Thostenson), Adaline Thostenson and Annah Thostenson, and a great-grandson - Dustin Jayce Mullet.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Oconomowoc EMT's and police, and the emergency staff at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. Your efforts were much appreciated.

A visitation and memorial service for Robert will be held at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Oconomowoc, beginning at 10:30am on Saturday, September 27.
