Robert Tracey Obituary
With a career as a 911 dispatcher for Belmont County, Robert was a calm and reassuring voice during times of crisis. His commitment to helping others extended beyond his professional life; he was also a devoted volunteer firefighter with the Vigilant Engine Company in Martins Ferry. Robert exemplified the spirit of service and selflessness through every facet of his life, embodying the qualities of a true hometown hero.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Robert found joy both in playing and watching various sports. Whether it was football, basketball, baseball, bowling, or softball, his enthusiasm was infectious. As a dedicated fan, he cheered for his favorite teams: the Boston Red Sox, Raiders, Pittsburgh Pirates, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Boston Celtics.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert G. and Nora L. (Smith) Tracey, Sr., beloved son, Cameron Tracey, siblings, Jaclyn Tracey, Deborah Ikler, Kathy Nickerson, and Charles Allen Tracey.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Justin Tracey, Paige Tracey, Grant Tracey, Erin Lucas, grandchildren, Kaiden Oliver, Kyler Oliver, Karis Oliver, Kenley Ward, and siblings, Theresa (Buddy) Runyon, Robin (Gary) Lucas, Tim Tracey, and John W. Tracey.
Robert's legacy is one of unwavering dedication, community spirit, and a love for the simple joys in life. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him, reminding everyone of the importance of service, passion, and camaraderie.
In his passing, Martins Ferry has lost a cherished resident, but Robert's influence and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to CARE Funeral and Cremation Specialists 204 W. Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio.
