Robert Dennis Tradewell, 78, of
Rohnert Park, CA passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 24, 2025. Bob was born on December 10, 1947, in
Fresno, California to William and Margaret Tradewell. He was the youngest of four children, preceded in death by his sister, Judy San Filippo.
When Bob's family moved to San Francisco he met his future wife, Sandra Mazzini at Abraham Lincoln High School. The young couple married and worked tirelessly as Bob completed his undergraduate and dental school education. In 1977 they moved to Rohnert Park with their two children, Steven and Karen.
Bob was a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, San Francisco. After dental school Bob worked at several established dental practices in the San Francisco Bay Area before opening his own dental practice in Rohnert Park. Following his career in dentistry, Bob began exploring digital photography, taking classes, participating in photography meet-up groups and discovered his passion for landscape photography. His works have received accolades from photographers all over the world. Wherever he traveled he found photo opportunities incorporating his talent for composition and capturing the beauty of light.
Bob's other great love was golf, beginning at eleven years old in the Fresno summer heat, then cherishing the years playing in the fog at the San Francisco Olympic Club. Through the years Bob played regularly at Foxtail Golf Course with various groups, ranked high in many tournaments, and passed along his talents to his son Steve. This past July, Bob combined a photo trip to the Oregon coast with a special round of golf at Bandon Dunes with his son Steve.
Over the years, Bob found ways to give back by participating on the Board of Directors of OADS (Old Adobe Developmental Services) supporting adults with disabilities, and serving as a mentor to two young brothers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer.
Many who got to know Bob through family gatherings, social groups, golf, pickleball, hiking excursions, etc., appreciated his dry sense of humor and his sweet tooth for pies, cakes, pastries, and gelato. Bob always said the happiest moments of his life were when his family was together.
Bob is survived by his wife Sandy Tradewell, son Steven Tradewell (Linda Sinclair), daughter Karen Tradewell, sisters Jane Huff and Sarah Monteverde, nieces and nephews, cousins, sister-in-law, and other extended family members from the Sinclair clan.
In accordance with his wishes, a private family gathering will celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Sonoma County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) or Providence at Home Hospice/Compassus of Petaluma.
